Phil Mickelson will tee it up alongside sporting icons Peyton Manning, Steph Curry and Charles Barkley for 'The Match: Champions for Change,' airing live on Friday, Nov. 27, at 3pm ET on TNT. Mickelson will pair up with Barkley to square off against Manning and Curry in a modified match play competition.
After a successful The Match Part 2 that raised millions for COVID-19 relief efforts, this 'Match' will benefit Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Earlier this week, Mickelson announced a $500,000 donation to Jackson State Univeristy, and wants to be an agent for change.
"As a white male, I'll never be able to understand the challenges that Black Americans go through, but I want to be part of the solution," Mickelson said."
The competition structure features a modified alternate shot format, with each player hitting their own tee shot and then hitting their partner's ball for the second shot. After the first two shots, the teams can choose which ball to play out the hole using regular alternate shot rules.
