The 2022 LPGA Tour season will come to a close this weekend as the top 60 golfers head to Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Florida to compete in the CME Group Tour Championship. Team KPMG will be well represented, as brand ambassadors Stacy Lewis, Leona Maguire, and Yuka Saso have all qualified for the event.
Lewis, who joined the LPGA Tour full-time in 2009, is no stranger to the pressures of the season-ending event. She has qualified in 13 out of 14 professional seasons and has finished in the top-15 four times, including a T6 finish in 2013. Throughout the 2022 campaign, Stacy has carded five top-25 finishes, with her best result of solo 3rd coming in July at the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational. She will look to finish the season strong as she heads into 2023, when she will serve as the captain of Team USA in the Solheim Cup.
In only her third full season on the LPGA Tour, Leona Maguire is entering the CME Group Tour Championship ranked 17th in the Race to CME Globe points for the second consecutive year. She has competed in 23 events so far in 2022, finishing in the top-10 seven times. In her second appearance of the season, Leona captured the first win of her promising LPGA Tour career at the LPGA Drive on Championship. She will have another opportunity to add to her trophy case when she tees off at Tiburón Golf Club this week.
Yuka Saso enters the final tournament of the year ranked 27th in the Race to CME Globe rankings. The 21-year-old has carded 10 top-25 finishes in 2022, including a solo 2nd place finish at the LPGA MEDIHEAL Championship last month. As a rookie in 2021, Saso matched Inbee Park as the youngest golfer to win the U.S. Women’s Open at 19 years, 11 months, and 17 days old. She will be in search of her second career victory this week at the CME Group Tour Championship.
Team KPMG will tee off at the following times on Thursday:
