Previewing the 2021 KPMG Women's PGA Championship

A look at what's in store for the seventh annual KPMG Women's PGA Championship

It's officialy KPMG Women's PGA Championship week!

KPMG is proud to celebrate our seventh annual KPMG Women's PGA Championship and KPMG Women's Leadership Summit this week, and to continue our commitment to raising the bar for women on and off the golf course.

This year's Championship will be held at Atlanta Athletic Club in suburban Atlanta. The field, featuring the top 100 players on the LPGA Money list, including KPMG ambassadors Stacy Lewis, Leona Maguire and Atlanta-native Mariah Stackhouse, will be competing for a purse of $4.5 million, which has doubled since the inaugural KPMG Women's PGA Championship in 2015.

New to this year's KPMG Women's PGA Championship is the KPMG Birdies for Books program. For each birdie recorded over the tournament's four rounds, KPMG, in partnership with First Book, will donate 10 books to underserved school districts in the Atlanta area.

Lizette Salas emerged from the morning wave as the surprise leader and that score held throughout the afternoon. Salas fired a five-under 67 to open the championship, carding a bogey-free round on the Highlands Course.

“It was definitely not easy,” Salas said. “We started with pretty wet conditions this morning, but the greens are rolling extremely pure. I had a really good warmup. I was really confident coming into this week, and I think my game really suits this golf course.”

The top of the leaderboard is crowded at the end of round one. Charley Hull is one shot off of the lead, followed by 22 other players within three shots of the lead.

Lewis, Stackhouse, and Maguire will be looking for strong starts when the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship tees off on Thursday. Below are Team KPMG’s tee times for the first two rounds of the Championship:

•       Stacy Lewis – 1:44pm / 8:27am

•       Mariah Stackhouse – 7:10am / 12:27pm
