Four Team KPMG ambassadors ready to compete for the U.S. Women’s Open title
The attention of the golf world shifts to Charleston, South Carolina this week, where the best in women’s golf will compete at the 74th U.S. Women’s Open. Team KPMG will be well represented at the Country Club of Charleston, with four competitors in the field vying for the season’s second major championship.
Stacy Lewis enters the week on a quest for her third career major championship. Lewis’ best finish at the U.S. Women’s Open came at Pinehurst in 2014, where she finished alone in second place at even par.
Joining Lewis in Charleston from Team KPMG this week are Mariah Stackhouse, Olafia Kristinsdottir and Leona Maguire, who are all in search of their first major championship titles. Kristinsdottir and Maguire both qualified for the Open earlier this month after playing primarily on the Symetra Tour for the first few months of the 2019 season. Maguire, in particular, has had an exceptional start to the 2019 season, claiming two victories on the Symetra Tour along with five top-5 finishes.
