Tan & Lincicome Lead After Round One of KPMG Women's PGA Championship

Follow the action at 1pm ET on Golf Channel

Windy conditions at Aronimink were the story of round one of the 2020 KPMG Women‘s PGA Championship. The course proved to be as challenging as advertised, with only 12 women in the 132-player field breaking par. Still, Aronimink on Day 1 was its lengthy self, but very playable and unusually kind.

“They set up the golf course really nice … It was playing perfectly today,” Park said. “Hopefully the wind direction doesn't really change, and the fairway and the greens are getting a lot firmer. We are getting some runs on the balls, and greens are getting firmer and faster, which is really great to see.”

Brittany Lincicome and Kelly Tan share the lead heading into Round 2 at -3. Tan is in search of her first LPGA victory, while Lincicome looks to win her ninth tournament and third major. Like KPMG Brand Ambassador Stacy Lewis, Lincicome is a new mother and a win would represent her first since her return from maternity leave.

“If I could do that (win as a mom), that would be the icing on my career, and I could probably retire,” Lincicome said, laughing. “That would be just a dream come true.”

KPMG Brand Ambassadors Stacy Lewis, Mariah Stackhouse, Klara Spilkova, and Leona Maguire will all look to gain ground on the leaders during Round 2. After yesterday’s action, Stackhouse is +2, Maguire +3, Spilkova +4, and Lewis +5. Here are today’s tee times for #TeamKPMG:

•      Mariah Stackhouse – 7:59am

•      Leona Maguire – 12:34pm

•      Klara Spilkova – 12:50pm

•      Stacy Lewis – 1:18pm

The length of the golf course should show itself today during Round 2, as winds aren’t expected to play as much of a factor. You can catch all of the action on Golf Channel from 1-5pm ET.

Good luck to the field and go #TeamKPMG!
