Mickelson to tee it up with Spieth and Watson in a star-studded group
After two weeks away from competition, Phil Mickelson is back in action this week at the Memorial. The five-time major champion will take on Muirfield Village in the first two round with Jordan Spieth and Bubba Watson, in what is undoubtedly one of the premier early round groups.
Mickelson enters the Memorial on the heels of a strong first half of the 2018 season, in large part due to his work on the green. Lefty currently ranks first on the PGA Tour in putts per round (27.24), putting from 10-15’ (44.4%) and birdie or better conversion percentage (40%).
Lefty has three career top-10 finishes at the Memorial, but has yet to claim a tournament title. With some more stellar work on the greens, this week might be the week!
