Lewis, Stackhouse & Kristinsdottir tee it up at first major of the year

Stacy, Mariah & Olafia ready to go for ANA Inspiration

The first major of the 2018 LPGA TOUR season has officially arrived, and KPMG ambassadors Stacy Lewis, Mariah Stackhouse and Olafia Kristinsdottir will be looking to hop in Poppie’s Pond come Sunday in Rancho Mirage, CA.

Stacy Lewis returns to action for the first time in nearly two months. After her T66 finish to start the season at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic, Lewis suffered an oblique strain while practicing at the Honda LPGA Thailand event in February, and has since rested in order to get ready for the year’s first major. Lewis has had great success at the ANA Inspiration throughout her career-- In her ten career starts at the event, she has 5 top-5 finishes, tied for the most at any event in her career.  The ANA Inspiration is also the site of Lewis’ first career victory on Tour, when she came out on top in 2011, capturing her first of two career major championships.

Lewis’ Team KPMG teammates Mariah Stackhouse and Olafia Kristinsdottir will also be making their way to Rancho Mirage, CA this week after playing in the Kia Classic this past week in Carlsbad, CA. So far this season, Stackhouse has made 3 starts on the LPGA Tour, with her best finish being her T11 at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic to start the season. This week will be Stackhouse’s first career start at the ANA Inspiration. Kristinsdottir tees it up this week for her fourth LPGA Tour event of the season, with her best finish having also coming at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic where she finished T26. This will also be Kristinsdottir’s first career start at the season’s first major.

Lewis, Stackhouse and Kristinsdottir will look for strong outings and to come out on top Rancho Mirage, CA. Tournament play is set to begin Thursday from Mission Hills Country Club.
